We have made a little tool to help you find some key information about your own site. Just enter your domain name, hit enter and see what your site is worth! See the descriptions of the links below.
These are the basic information about your domain. For example the date of registration, when it will expire, who registered it. It may also contain your personal information if you are not careful enough so you should definitely check what others can see about you.
Alexa Site Rank
Since Google doesn’t have any official ranking system any more it’s pretty hard to tell about a website how it is compared to others. There are of course many tools, but you can find some basic (and free) information at Alexa. If your site is pretty new there might not be any information available, but if you see your Alexa rank it’s already a good sign that your site is improving. The less your rank is the better (basically it’s an order of all websites in the world in the order of visitor numbers). Once your site is getting popular you will see lots of interesting information about it on Alexa, so make sure you check back once in a while!
Our other favorite free tool in website analysis. It will tell you lots of interesting information about your website including a rough estimation of its worth, visitor numbers and daily income. Of course most of these numbers are estimated based on other tools (like Alexa), but still it’s pretty interesting. And free.
It’s such a cool website that you just can’t afford not knowing about it! Wayback machine is a tool on archive.org. What this website has been doing for several years or even decades now is making snapshots about all internet websites once in a while.
Domains are like used cars, people buy and sell them all the time. But unlike with cars you may not even know that someone has already owned your domain before! Your domain’s past may have a huge impact on your current website, so you should definitely check out if anyone owned it before and also you need to see what kind of website it was 4, 6 or 8 years ago. Have you just bought a domain that was used for spamming 3 years ago by a Russian hacker? Well, good luck ranking in Google or any search engines…
It’s an awesome tool with so much to offer. Unfortunately this is the first (and only) one on this list which is not completey free, but part of it is free and you can get some extra if you register, which is still free.
You just have to enter your domain name in the search bar in the middle and it will tell you tons of super-important statistics and information about your website. For example your keywords, how your site is ranking in search engines, how your competitors are doing.
If your site is very new then most of the fields might be empty, but make sure you check the bottom of the page for the backlinks overview. It will tell you how many other sites link to your page with what anchor texts and so on. Make sure you also click on Backlink overview to see the full report.
It may be getting a bit outdated, but still it’s good to check how your site is doing in WOT. You remember the Russian hacker who owned your domain 3 years ago spamming the whole world day and night? Your brand new blog may already have a terrible WOT rating and you don’t even know about it. So go and find it out.
Google Speed Test
This one pretty much speaks for itself. Go and check how your site is doing regarding load speeds. Google will also give you several suggestions about how to improve your site to make it load faster.
