Use more images!
When you are writing a blog or any kind of article it’s absolutely crucial to use images! But where can you find them? Well, finding good (and free) images for your site online is easier than you would think.
Have you ever noticed this part of the page when creating a new post?
It’s called “Featured Image” and this is the image that will appear right above your post and at every place where this post is referenced (eg. related posts, current posts, or any kind of widgets or plugins that show these).
Always set a featured image for your posts
Do you always have a featured image for all of your posts? Well, you should!
Having more images in your content is very important because we live in a visual world. You should at least add a featured image to all your posts, but at the same time you should also insert as many images, charts, infographics into your content as possible (without breaking the content).
Images make your site much more interesting and visually appealing.
But where can you find images that you can use, specially without running into any king of copyright issues?
The answer is easy, just make a google search “free stock photos” and you will find tons of sites with free photos.
But my personal favourite is Pixabay.
They have 1.5 million photos, all are free and can be used without any kind of copyright issues. You can download all photos in different sizes and just drag and drop them to your gallery.
Every time you create a post you should go to Pixabay, enter any word or term that would best describe your content and look for a nice image. Download it and set it as featured image.
It only takes 1-2 minutes and improves the quality of your site greatly!

There are a lot of free galleries like the ones below. I always keep returning to Pixabay, but feel free to check out all of these and others you may find.

Whatewer you do, do not download pics from image-sharing platforms (insta, flickr, clickasnap) or from google image search without first contacting the content owner and asking permission. Worst-case scenario, you’ll get a no. (Most probably it will be a polite ‘no’; content makers are usually happy that you don’t just steal their intellectual property. Just never approach any creative person in a condescending manner: it is NOT appealing to be “advertised” on your site.)
However you usually can share images uploaded to social media sites. On the plus side, these files do not take up storage from your plan. A bit of backdraw that the owner may decide anytime to delete the content, but it rarely happens.
